Mercura communications training
Sharpen communication skills with procedures training and realistic in-the-field simulation
The new family of communications trainers from DTM Global may be platform
independent or designed for specific equipment emulation. These tools can
be used to train on equipment used for communication within a ship or
vehicle. Equally, these tools can be used to simulate radios used in external
communcation between units.
An instructor console monitors and controls all other users. Different circuit
configurations can be used to simulate a range of situations from
• Simple one-to-one links to
• Complex many-to-many links with priority override
Press-to-transmit support is provided by any of the following:
- The PC’s graphical user interface
- A hard wired switch
- Voice activated transmission
Audio data is compressed to minimise the impact on the network infrastructure
and two quality modes optimise the balance between performance and
quality:
- Maximum quality mode can support approximately 20 simultaneous transmissions on a 1GB network
- Normal quality mode can support approximately 40 simultaneous transmissions on a 1GB network
